About me
I write with soul, speak through poetry, and echo the unheard — my words carry truth, sorrow, hope, and depth.
Speaking Souls. Stirring Minds. Creating Change.
I’m M. Farooq Azam, born in 1996 in Mandi Bahauddin, Punjab, Pakistan — a poet, lecturer, researcher, and social activist. Poetry has been a part of my soul since a very young age, but it was through the encouragement of readers that I decided to shape my words into a book. I Once Lived is my first published poetry collection, with another book and a script currently in the works. My writing blends sadness, truth, self-awareness, and hope — inspired by the realities I witness and feel deeply.
My poetic style blends classical and modern elements — complex yet deeply personal. Each poem reflects my experiences but speaks to universal emotions. Through I Once Lived, I explore society’s hidden truths while offering hope, love, and reflection. These words are yours as much as they are mine.

What Readers Are Saying
Honest reflections from those who’ve felt the impact of the words — raw, real, and deeply resonant.
What I cherished most was the book’s refusal to simplify human experience. It honored grief (A Tear’s Monologue), celebrated resilience (Rain), and exposed societal fractures (An Aged Laborer) with equal tenderness. If I longed for anything, it was perhaps a touch more lightness—a reprieve from the weight—but even that absence felt intentional. This is a book that demands to be felt, not just read. It lingers like a heartbeat after a storm: bruised, but stubbornly alive.
